Mini BiographyAmrita Arora was born in a traditional Maharashtrian family at Mumbai (Bombay). She is the younger sister of Malaika Arora, the well known model and actress. Amrita Arora followed footsteps of her elder sister. She started her career as Model and gradually moved into being a Video jockey. Amrita hosted shows such as "MTV House Full" and "MTV Chill Out". She also featured in many advertisements such as Ponds, Elle 18 and Sunsilk Fruitamins. Amrita Arora made her debut in Bollywood with the film "Kitne Door Kitne Pass" opposite Fardeen Khan. Her first film was unsuccessful at the Box Office. Amrita's first successful movie was "Awara Paagal Deewana" directed by Vikram Bhatt. After that, a series of flop film followed including the controversial film "Girlfriend" with Isha Koppikar (a film about lesbian relationship). She was romantically linked to Kevin Otter, Upen Patel and Ashmit Patel. Currently she is said to be dating Usman Afzaal.

She started her career in showbiz industry as a model and then graduated to acting in films. Initially known as Malaika Arora’s little sis, Amrita earned recognition through regular video jockeying on MTV. She also featured in ads such as Ponds, Elle 18, Sunsilk Fruitamins and AfterShave.

Amrita made her Bollywood debut opposite Fardeen Khan from a flop film Kitne Door Kitne Paas. She followed her forgettable debut with an unlikely role of a bitchy woman in Vikram Bhatt’s Awara Paagal Deewana.

In spite of a slow start Amrita is getting regular offers from Bollywood, but fame also brought in its share of controversies. Rumors were fast in flowing, linking her to a crop of stars, from crooner Kamal Khan to Fardeen Khan to Salman Khan. This 5'5" Aquarian seems to have courted controversy much before her first release.

Mischievous, ambitious, confident, charming and focused Amrita has carved a name for herself. This petite actress is one to watch out for!

She is doing Mahesh Manjrekar's Rakht, Deh (a fabulous woman-oriented role) and a Telegu film, to be directed by the top director of the South, Teja. She also got Kayanaat, which is a Charlie Angels kind of venture along with Diya Mirza and Sonali Kulkarni. Then there's Sajid Nadiadwala's Mujhse Shaadi Karogi with Salman and Ajay Chandok's Team - The Force with Sohail Khan. Her next release is Sharth opposite Tusshar Kapoor. The song 'Dilli ki sardi' was an eye-opener for the film industry people's towards her.
